The
CRICKET COACHING MAT has already been used in a wide
variety of situations.
 |
At
one school it allowed cricket to be accessed by 80%
of the 13 year olds so that talented individuals with
little or no cricket background could be quickly identified. |
 |
A
squad of 20 girls and boys trained with the mat every
day in preparation for the Yorkshire Schools Cup. Links
were made to share the facilities with a local club
where several of the pupils now play. The coaching mat
was then used by that club in a Norwich Union "Inter
Cricket" event. |
 |
Schools
which have identified individuals as being "Gifted
and Talented" at cricket have bought the mats and
they are currently being used by a Yorkshire and England
Under 15 girl and a Yorkshire under 13 boy. |
 |
The
mat has also been purchased by a school for use with
pupils with learning difficulties and has been described
as "a great resource that has made the game more
accessible" |
 |
At
a club level it has been used by many clubs throughout
this country, in Holland and also in Canada. At the
club where I coach (and where the mat was developed)
were under 9 champions (with two girls in the team),
and under 11 joint champions, with several members of
this team playing representative cricket for the district
Lords Taverners team. |
The
CRICKET COACHING MAT has also been demonstrated at
a variety of venues during the winter at various Coaches
Conferences at places like Old Trafford, Lilleshall, Northants,
Derbyshire, Northumberland, Buckinghamshire and the English
Schools Cricket Festival at Taunton. The feedback from these
venues has been incorporated in the final product.
